John’s “Little Miss Sunshine” flashback review, johnvhansen.com, Dec. 17, 2012
“Little Miss Sunshine” – There’s nothing particularly original about this story of a family that road-trips to the titular beauty pageant that daughter Olive (Abigail Breslin) wants to enter. However, it’s nice to see a big-hearted comedy about real, troubled people every now and then. The humor is sometimes over the top in a “Vacation” sort of way, but it also can be observant, especially when it exposes the more disturbing elements of pageants.
