“Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip” Season 1 (2006-07, NBC), episodes 1-6 – It’s unlike anything else on TV, taking us behind the scenes of a fictional “Saturday Night Live”-style show. NBS is a thinly veiled stand-in for NBC; you gotta give the network credit for letting Aaron Sorkin poke fun at their ratings obsession and knee-jerk reactions to the ephemeral concept of public opinion. Matthew Perry (yes, the guy who played Chandler Bing) is clearly loving this fast-paced respite from dumb film comedies.
